Toray Industries Inc. from Tokyo, Japan, has partnered with Head Sports GmbH to create the Boom Raw tennis racquet, a product made using bio-circular carbon fiber, as part of their commitment to sustainable solutions for the sports and recreation market.

This collaboration, first announced in March 2024, has grown from testing prototype racquets and pickleball paddles to the official launch of this special edition product.

The Boom Raw racquet is made with Toray’s Torayca carbon fibers, which are derived from biological waste and residues sourced from agriculture, forestry, and related sectors. Instead of being discarded, these materials are reused or recycled into high-performance carbon fiber by Toray and its European subsidiary, Toray Carbon Fibers Europe.

Despite its sustainable build, the Boom Raw racquet delivers the same high-level performance as Head’s regular Boom model, offering powerful shots, smooth handling, and enjoyable playability with a lower environmental footprint.
