The North Face launches streetwear collaboration with Online Ceramics

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2022-04-26 02:14:48 – USA

The North Face has partnered up with Online Ceramics, a Los Angeles-based streetwear brand, for an Earth Day-themed collaboration.

The North Face x Online Ceramics collection includes jackets, T-shirts, shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, hoodies, joggers, gilets, fleeces, hats, backpacks, sleeping bags, and shoes, all inspired by 1970s California climb culture and the earth.

The pieces openly display tags stating what they are made of, such as organic cotton, recycled fibers, and embroidery, while others are embellished with words such as "Always be your sunshine" and earth imagery.

The North Face claims that the outerwear pieces include at least 75% recycled or organic fabric content, earning them the "Exploration Without Compromise" certification.

Other items incorporate its newest innovation, 'Re-Grind,' a method that recycles manufacturing scraps into new, wearable gear, with slogans like "From factory floors to the great outdoors, this garment provides fabric scraps a second opportunity and turns waste material into a brand-new product."

As part of The North Face's promise to convert 100% of its top materials for apparel to recycled, regenerative, or renewable by 2025, the new Re-Grind platform will be featured in additional pieces throughout the year.

Other highlights include The North Face's use of sustainable technologies to rebuild a number of iconic models. The Basecamp Duffel is now made entirely of recycled fabrics, the Denali fleece is produced entirely of recycled materials, and the Nuptse Jacket is designed to reduce 6,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Online Ceramics, a streetwear brand started in 2016, is recognized for its small-batch, hand-dyed graphic T-shirts with artwork inspired by the beauty of the planet and its species, as well as being associated with the Grateful Dead.

Elijah Funk and Alix Ross, founders of Online Ceramics, said in a statement that they've always sought to design apparel with good themes that encourage people to adjust their way of thinking. Working with The North Face has allowed them to combine their unique, thought-provoking designs with the legendary brand's styles, resulting in retro-inspired gear that celebrates Earth every day.

The North Face x Online Ceramics collection will be available for XPLR Pass members on April 27 at thenorthface.co.uk.
