The Lycra Company, a global provider of fibre and technology solutions for the apparel industry, has introduced its latest legwear innovation concepts for the 2026/27 season. Developed in collaboration with trend experts from Stijlinstituut Amsterdam, the collection explores how people live, dress and express their identity in today’s world.
The concepts are grouped into four lifestyle themes: Work or School, Sport, Chill and Going Out. Instead of targeting specific age groups or genders, the approach reflects inclusive and flexible lifestyles, recognising that modern consumers move easily between roles, activities and personal styles.
The new concepts reflect real-life scenarios, from students wearing school uniforms to professionals balancing work and fitness, and fashion-forward consumers embracing bold styles at any age. The collection demonstrates how fibre-based innovations can adapt to different needs, offering comfort, performance and personal expression across a variety of lifestyles.
Jane Gwyther, Global Product Director for Legwear at The Lycra Company, said the concepts are rooted in the realities of modern living. She explained that the goal was to develop versatile and more sustainable solutions that work across different lifestyles while supporting diversity in age, gender and individual style choices.
