Texfil Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Filatex India Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Indeca Sporting Goods Pvt. Ltd., part of the Decathlon Group. The partnership aims to increase the use of high-quality recycled polyester in sports apparel.

Texfil has developed its own chemical recycling technology based on glycolysis, which helps maintain the quality of polyester during recycling. The recycled polyester chips produced through this process are marketed under the Ecosis brand.

As part of the agreement, Decathlon will carry out structured trials of Ecosis recycled polyester chips and yarn through its manufacturing partners in India. Both companies will also explore ways to redirect suitable pre-consumer and post-consumer polyester textile waste from Decathlon’s Indian supply chain to Texfil for recycling.

Madhu Sudhan Bhageria, Chairman and Managing Director of Filatex, said the collaboration highlights a common commitment to circularity and sustainable material development. He stated that Ecosis is based on the idea that polyester textiles should not be treated as waste and expressed enthusiasm about working with Decathlon India to introduce sustainable materials into everyday sportswear.

He noted that as sustainability becomes a growing priority for brands worldwide, the collaboration with Ecosis has the potential to create a positive impact for both people and the planet.
