TexCoat G4 earns validation for sustainable textile finishing

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-10-15 16:22:18 – USA

BW Converting’s Baldwin TexCoat G4 precision spray finishing system has been officially validated through a collaboration with Fashion for Good in Amsterdam and the Apparel Impact Institute (Aii) in San Francisco.

After extensive trials and analysis, the system has been added to Aii’s Climate Solutions Portfolio Registry as a verified technology that effectively reduces carbon emissions and resource consumption throughout the global textile supply chain.

Replacing traditional pad-based methods, the TexCoat G4 uses non-contact precision spray technology that applies finishing chemistry only where required. This innovation delivers energy savings of up to 50%, reduces water and chemical use by as much as 50%, and eliminates chemical waste during changeovers. The result is a more efficient, profitable, and sustainable finishing process for textile mills.

“Recognition from both Fashion for Good and Aii highlights TexCoat G4’s impact as not only an advanced finishing system but also a validated climate-friendly solution,” said Yiannis Vasilonikolos, Global Sales Leader for Textiles at BW Converting. “This confirmation reinforces what our customers already experience, measurable reductions in energy, water, and carbon use, alongside exceptional finishing quality.”
