Minister for Industries and IT KT Rama Rao during a joint meeting with the Minister for Finance Etela Rajender, Minister for Marketing T Harish Rao and representative of the ginning mills on the possible way forward to help the cotton growers who were finding it difficult to get a fair deal in the markets because of record production this year, appealed to the management of ginning mills in the State to come to the rescue of the cotton growers.

KT Rama Rao said that the government had extended all possible help to the growers so as to bail them. He wanted the ginning mills owners also to do their bit to help the farmers. The Ministers said that the government was also firm on supporting the Ginning mills.

The Ginning Mills association president, Ravinder Reddy urged the Ministers to help release incentives worth Rs 100 crore over due to the ginning industry. Responding positively to plea, all three Ministers assured that the government was ready to help not only the cotton growers but also the ginning mill owners. The release of incentive was expected to enable the mills to step up cotton purchases from the farmers in the market.

Minister KT Rama Rao also instructed Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary, Industries Department, to take immediate steps for revival of sick ginning mills in the state. Minister said that these ginning mills would be revived utilizing the incentives available under the Telangana Government’s Industrial Health Clinics.

Representatives from ginning industry also appealed to the Ministers for waiving off electricity penalties levied by the previous governments. Responding positively to this request, Minister KT Rama Rao instructed officials to resolve the issue at the earliest.

Minister KTR also announced that an exclusive Delint and Solvent Industrial Park would be set up in the State if ginning mills owners come forward and invest.
