Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd. has introduced a new generation of stretch fabric featuring an ultra-fine, three-dimensional structure with irregularly sized crimps. This innovative construction provides exceptional elasticity, softness, and a lightweight feel, along with moisture-wicking and quick-drying properties.

Initially designed for outdoor and sportswear applications, the fabric is set to debut in the Autumn/Winter 2026 season. Teijin Frontier also plans to expand its use to innerwear and fashion segments, targeting sales of 100,000 metres in fiscal 2026 and aiming for one million metres by 2029.

The company developed an ultra-fine side-by-side conjugate yarn using its advanced PTT spinning and drawing expertise. This yarn bonds two types of PTT polymers in parallel to create a highly crimped and elastic structure. It is then blended with high-multifilament polyester using proprietary methods to form a sheath-core yarn with varied crimps, giving the fabric a soft, airy, and textured surface.

The key features of the new stretch fabric include a distinctive texture with balanced firmness and drape, a barely-there feel against the skin, and superior moisture control. In addition, its sustainable design incorporates plant-based materials in the core yarn and recycled polyester in the outer layer.
