Techtextil India 2025 to introduce ‘ReCycle Zone’

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-08-11 16:02:05 – India

To encourage circular practices and environmental responsibility in the technical textiles sector, Techtextil India 2025 will feature a special ‘ReCycle Zone’ in association with the Society of Plastics Engineers India (SPE India). The zone will focus on reclaiming, reusing, and reimagining materials, and will be a key highlight of the exhibition scheduled from November 19–21, 2025, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.

Raj Manek, executive director and board member of Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd, described the ‘ReCycle Zone’ as a “timely and strategic addition” that will encourage meaningful collaborations, especially as the industry shifts its focus towards environmental responsibility.

The zone will host companies offering a variety of recycling solutions, including waste recycling for garments, agro-textiles, and medical textiles, as well as recycling of plastic and PET waste for textile use. It will also present advanced machines for sorting and shredding, while covering important topics such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance, traceability, and the use of artificial intelligence in waste management.

The introduction of the ReCycle Zone is in line with India’s efforts to encourage sustainable manufacturing, supported by initiatives like LiFE and PM MITRA Parks. With technical textiles playing an important role in areas such as defence, healthcare, and automotive industries, recycling and circular design have become vital. This step also strengthens Messe Frankfurt India’s commitment to building a sustainable business network.
