London Fashion Week is well underway with over 250 designers showcasing their work to a global audience of media and retailers. It is Britain’s biggest biannual consumer fashion showcase and once again London-based Taiwanese fashion designer Apu Jan made his fifth appearance at London Fashion Week with an autumn and winter collection that features his signature knitwear.
Deep In The Woods collection features 33 designs, all using fabrics jointly developed with Taiwanese textile companies and accessories made using 3-D printing.
Through his fashion collection, the designer said that he hopes to express people’s impressions of forests and their complex inner worlds.
He used black and white as his major colors, with navy blue and burgundy accenting the different sides of the human heart, Jan said.
Over 400 people attended the catwalk show on Saturday.
Fashion expert Tony Glenville, who was attending one of Jan’s shows for the second time, said that the designer has become more sophisticated in his knitting skills in the new collection and his use of color was very balanced.
The sense of support for designers in both the industry and the press as well as between designers themselves makes London a very special place.
British swimwear designer and socialite Kimberley Garner said that she enjoys Jan’s knitwear and has shared it with her friends and fans.
