Sustainable start-up LifeLabs raise $6 million in seed 3 funding

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2022-04-27 11:27:05 – USA

US sustainable textile start-up LifeLabs, has raised $6 million in a series seed 3 fundraising round headed by Asia Green Fund, bringing the total capital to $13.8 million.

In October 2021, LifeLabs released a range of body temperature regulating garments to the general market. The company's sustainable everyday wear, outdoor wear, sleepwear, and bedding range includes a patented fabric made from recycled materials that either cool or maintains body heat. CoolLife, which instantly releases up to 40% of the body's infrared radiation, reducing the need for energy-intensive air conditioners, and WarmLife, which employs reflective technology to provide unparalleled warmth with less materials, are two of LifeLabs' signature brands.

Dr. Yi Cui, Stanford professor of Materials Science and Engineering and Co-Founder of LifeLabs, said that they intend to create a tremendous disruption in the way they think about and use personal energy with LifeLabs. Not only does their proprietary fabric feel great on the skin, but it also works with the body to create a temperature-regulating system of performance and design. In terms of textile innovation, this is a game-changer.

The Everyday Cooling T-Shirt was just added to LifeLabs' collection of CoolLife goods. The world's coolest T-shirt is the first thermally transparent, Polyethylene-based fabric that enables almost all infrared radiation to escape, delivering a continual cooling effect unlike any other apparel on the market. Individuals can reduce their thermostat by three degrees Fahrenheit by wearing clothing from the CoolLife collection, saving 400 pounds of carbon per family each year.

Dr. Bo Bai, Chairman and Founder of Asia Green Fund, a leading green impact investment firm based in the 4.5 billion people Asia market said that they’re convinced that technological advancements will have a significant impact in the fight against climate change by empowering individuals to reduce their personal energy consumption. AGF is honored to collaborate with Dr. Cui and LifeLabs on such an important objective to achieve global carbon neutrality.
