Surti textile traders to market their products online

The Federation of Surat Textile Traders Association (FOSTTA) is developing online directory-cum-website for marketing and promotion of Surti brand fabrics across the country. Around 10,000 wholesale traders from Surat textile markets have registered themselves with the online directory-cum-website for the first time.

There over 155 textile markets on the city’s Ring Road and Salabatpura area housing over 55,000 textile shops. The daily turnover of the textile products is pegged at Rs 110 crore.

FOSTTA office-bearers said that the leading textile trading firms have joined in the endeavour to market their products online. The details of the textile traders and their speciality in saris, dress materials, home furnishing and fabrics are being uploaded on the website for the customers’ benefit.

Sanjay Jagnani, president, FOSTTA, said that the customers, especially women across the country, would have a wider choice of selecting exquisite material on the website. It will have listing of the traders and that the customers will also get price quotes and an assurance of faster deliver anywhere in the country.

About the price factor, Jagnani said that they are the biggest man-made fabric wholesale market in the country. The customers will certainly have a huge price benefit as compared to the retail shops.

Rajnish Lilha, a textile trader, who has registered on the website, said that theyexpect more and more individual customers from across the country to take benefit. The customers will not only get huge price benefit, but they would get quality stuff as well.

Bajrang Gadodia, general secretary of FOSTTA, said that there are more than 55,000 textile traders in the city and they plan to take all of them onboard on their new online venture. The website will be soon launched.

Next time when the women folk in the country want to buy the famous polyester saris, dress materials and fabrics manufactured in the country’s biggest man-made fabric (MMF) hub in Surat, they need not have to go looking for them in the shops, but just visit the website.
