Startup launches mini Polyfloss Machine for plastic recycling

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-05-22 16:44:24 – France

The Polyfloss Factory, a social impact startup based in Paris, has introduced a new, compact version of its Polyfloss machine, a simple, hands-on tool that makes plastic recycling accessible and engaging for all. Designed to resemble a candyfloss machine, the mini Polyfloss device spins plastic waste into soft, thread-like fibers that can be shaped into new objects, such as molded bricks or textiles.

The company has developed this smaller version to spread the idea of local, creative recycling. The machine is aimed at design studios, classrooms, DIY enthusiasts, and textile communities, empowering people to take plastic recycling into their own hands in a fun, practical way.

“We can’t rely solely on existing waste systems to solve the plastic problem — it’s just not enough,” said Emile de Visscher, CEO of The Polyfloss Factory. “We need local circular economies shaped by the people and suited to their needs.”

COO Audrey Gaulard added, “The original machine has already made a difference in humanitarian settings. With this smaller model, we’re offering the same benefits in a more affordable and accessible form, so more people can join the movement.”
