Spiber, a leader in the development of man-made protein fibers has announced new collaborations with two well-known Italian textile companies, Manifattura Sesia S.r.l. and Achille Pinto S.p.A. With Manifattura Sesia, known for using eco-friendly materials and offering high-quality products, a new yarn blend has been developed. It contains 30% Brewed Protein™ fiber mixed with wool.

“We are proud of our new yarn, T-Gen, short for Technological Generation Yarns,” said Chiara Serra, Creative Director at Manifattura Sesia. “It feels very soft to the touch and is lighter than pure wool, making it technically interesting. We have created three versions of T-Gen to offer more design possibilities. By combining Brewed Protein™ fiber with certified Superfine Merino Wool (RWS and Nativa), we’re offering a responsible and high-quality option. T-Gen marks another step in our journey to create long-lasting, sustainable yarns.”

Achille Pinto, an Italian mill known for detailed jacquards and printed fabrics, has teamed up with Spiber to launch new collections made with 15–30% Brewed Protein™ fiber blended with silk and wool. These are the first textiles in Europe to mix this fiber with silk. Achille Pinto is also the first in Europe to show that Brewed Protein™ fabrics can be printed on. These fabrics are ideal for accessories like scarves and shawls and can be customized as needed.

Through these collaborations, Spiber is growing its presence in Europe and encouraging the use of Brewed Protein™ fiber as part of the fashion industry’s shift toward more sustainable and innovative materials.
