Spell, a Byron Bay-based label, has teamed up with Outland Denim, a sustainable B-Corp, to launch a limited-edition capsule denim line. The collaboration is the start of a long-term relationship between the brands, with Outland Denim expected to create more Spell denim styles.

Outland Denim's stand-alone manufacturing and finishing facilities in Cambodia have produced the new collection, which not only employs young women who have been exploited but also produces denim in innovative and sustainable ways.

Elizabeth Abegg, co-founder, and chief brand officer of Spell, said the collaboration lets the company achieve its sustainability goals. They've spent the last three years mapping their supply chain, and sustainable denim has been tough to come by. But thanks to their collaboration with Outland, a company dedicated to eliminating exploitation and using less natural materials and chemicals in its Cambodian factories, they've been brought to an entirely new level of supply chain transparency and responsibility.

She added at a time when collaborations are critical to making positive progress, they are so proud of this relationship.

The five-piece capsule collection was created from the cleanest raw materials and methods possible, including 100% organic cotton, zero harmful chemicals, 100% vegan materials, and cutting-edge water and energy conservation technologies.

James Bartle, the founder of Outland Denim, added that partnership between brands would help the apparel industry deliver more sustainable results.

He said they admire what Spell has accomplished in terms of a brand and, as a result, a culture where women can interact. Seeing their production house perform through the Spell modeling lens has been a pleasure to see. Spell has a powerful look and a classic sense of personality.

The Outland Denim x Spell partnership line will be available to buy on the Outland Denim and Spell websites beginning May 7.
