Leading swimwear brand, Speedo, has released its most sustainable swimwear collection to date, the Eco, which contains up to 82 percent recycled materials.

The Eco swimsuit range expands Speedo's environmentally friendly offering, with the introduction of two new fabrics, the Eco Endurance + and Eco Endurabrite fabrics, which have been crafted from recycled yarn.

The new innovative fabrics were developed in response to the rising worldwide issue of plastic waste and its impact on the environment, particularly on the oceans. The new Eco Endurabrite is made out of 82 percent recycled plastic bottles and ocean waste. According to Speedo, the new fabric has a better chlorine resistance, allowing swimwear to fit and feel fresh for longer.

Speedo's spring/summer 2022 line of fashion and utilitarian swimwear has the Eco Endurabrite fabric, which includes an on-trend animal print on long-sleeved paddle suits and two pieces.

Eco Endurance Plus, a development of Speedo's best-selling fabric that now includes 53 percent recycled polyester, was used for other models in the SS22 collection. This comprises some of Speedo's most popular fitness lines, as well as the Medallist suit. Changes to the production and design of Speedo's iconic swimsuit have saved almost 27,000 meters of fabric from landfills as part of the company's ambition to be net-zero by 2030.
