Global swimwear brand Speedo is taking steps to make its products more environmentally friendly. The brand has introduced an outdoor swimwear line made with Ocean Flex, a new fabric certified by GRS and RCS. This material is designed with ocean health in mind and supports the brand’s commitment to reducing environmental impact.
Ocean Flex is created from an 80/20 mix of Hyosung TNC’s GRS-certified regen Ocean nylon, made from discarded fishing nets, and RCS-certified regen Spandex, both produced from 100% recycled content.
“We’ve long valued our partnership with Speedo and are proud that such an iconic brand, one committed to protecting our waters – has chosen our certified recycled textile innovation for its Ocean Flex swimwear range,” said Laura Nilo, Hyosung US Marketing Manager – West Coast Lead.
Part of Speedo’s Open Water collection, the Ocean Flex range includes a women’s one-piece swimsuit, a long-sleeve zip-back one-piece, a racer-back crop top, and boyleg bottoms. The pieces come in a sleek black and dark gray color-block style, combining performance with eco-conscious design.
