Sourcery expands Direct-to-Grower Program with ten leading mills

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2023-12-14 17:32:15 – USA

Sourcery has announced ten prominent spinning mills and vertical manufacturers in apparel, denim, and home textiles as Provisional Partners in its Direct-to-Grower™ Programme. This selection, including names like Markwell Spinning, Thiagarajar Mills, RSB Cottex, Leaspin Textiles, Sustainable Spinning & Commodities, L.S. Spinning Mills, S.A.AANANDAN MILL, Bio Spun, Bio Spinning, and one confidential participant, stands out among 100 applicants for their dedication to quality, transparency, fairness, and trade efficiency.

These new Partners, boasting a spinning capacity exceeding 400,000 spindles, have committed to minimum volume agreements on fiber with Sourcery’s Grower Partners. Their aim is to revolutionize trade, fostering demand throughout the cotton value chain and promoting positive change.

An exceptional benefit of joining the Direct-to-Grower™ Programme as a Provisional Partner is that Sourcery's global commercial teams stimulate demand for yarn and fabric sales without charging commission fees. Simultaneously, they assist in securing fiber from Grower Partners in a more transparent, fair, and efficient manner. This not only offers significant potential cost savings compared to traditional approaches but also enables confident product offerings with the required quality, integrity, traceability, and verified impact at the farm level.

Through the Direct-to-Grower™ Programme, these Provisional Partners are already receiving inquiries on yarn and fabric from Sourcery’s Brand, Manufacturing, and Trade Partners worldwide.

Amey Padma, Commercial Trade Director at Sourcery, notes, “Many of these spinners are not well known outside of India, but among the top textile engineers and buying teams in India, they are considered best in class in terms of quality, consistency, and value.” Like Grower Partners, these spinners can now receive the recognition they deserve from consumers, brands, and manufacturers through Direct-to-Grower.

The Provisional Partners will engage with Sourcery for a year, fully onboarding into the Direct-to-Grower™ Programme as they fulfill their sourcing commitments and uphold their commitment to commercial and environmental excellence. Upon becoming full Manufacturing Partners, they will be among the first to experience Sourcery’s next phase of Direct-to-Grower™ with the launch of its highly anticipated Impact and Assurance Programme. This initiative brings unmatched transparency, authenticity, and trust to the cotton trade using verified primary data collected for each individual grower enrolled in the programme.
