Shapellx has introduced its latest womenswear line, OceanHug, made using recycled oyster shells. This collection marks a major step forward in the brand’s commitment to sustainability by using ocean resources. Each product, which ranges from intimates and shapewear to casual and outerwear, uses material made from around 33 recycled oyster shells, helping to reduce landfill waste and the use of new raw materials.
Commenting on the new eco-friendly line, Shane Shi, Vice President of Shapellx, highlighted the importance of developing more sustainable options. He also shared his excitement about using oyster protein from shells, which not only supports the environment but also offers practical benefits for performance and comfort.
Shi explained that the brand is dedicated to exploring innovative materials, such as the OceanHug yarn. This lightweight, breathable fabric contains natural peptides and amino acids, giving it a silky and cooling feel while also being gentle on the skin. The fabric has antibacterial properties, reducing the growth of harmful bacteria by 2.56 percent. It is also processed without toxic chemicals, making it suitable for people with sensitive skin.
The OceanHug collection will be available in soft pastel shades like baby blue, oyster white, and lavender pink. It represents a step forward in circular fashion by reusing discarded materials and supports Shapellx’s mission to create stylish, high-quality products with a lower environmental footprint.
