Australia-based biotech company Samsara Eco has teamed up with the European Outdoor Group (EOG) to introduce the Nylon Materials Collective, an initiative aimed at making high-performance, recycled nylon more accessible for outdoor brands.
This collective will bring together outdoor brands, supply chain partners and material experts to overcome common challenges that slow down the use of recycled materials, helping the industry move toward a more sustainable and circular future.
By combining demand from multiple brands, the collective will allow its members to access recycled materials through shared volumes. It will also give them the option to work closely with top supply chain partners, reducing logistical hurdles and speeding up the shift to these materials.
“Outdoor brands understand the need for a circular, low-carbon future, and we want to support as many brands as possible in using our materials,” said Sarah Cook, chief commercial officer at Samsara Eco. “This collective will help outdoor brands of all sizes—especially those with smaller material needs or those who usually purchase at the fabric level—easily adopt and use virgin-identical recycled materials in their upcoming collections.”
Samsara Eco’s EosEco enzymatic recycling technology creates recycled materials, including nylon 6.6, that match the quality of new nylon. This gives brands the confidence to meet upcoming EU Circular Economy rules regarding Extended Producer Responsibility and minimum recycled content, along with achieving their internal sustainability goals.
The Nylon Materials Collective is open to all EOG members and will officially launch before EOG’s participation in ISPO Munich 2025, where Samsara Eco will display its recycled nylon samples.
