UP has witnessed rapid industrialization in the recent past, particularly after the launch of policies of economic liberalization in the country. Cottage industries, such as handloom and handicrafts, have traditionally provided livelihood to a large number of people in the state. Uttar Pradesh government now focusing to promote industrialization in Rohilkhand region of the state has plans for setting up three mega clusters.

Union Minister of State for Textile Santosh Gangwar at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the first industrial township here said that three mega clusters will be set up soon to promote industries, especially traditional work of kites, threads and zardozi.

Minister of State for Small Scale Industries and Export Promotion, Bhagwat Sharan Gangwar, at the occasion said that all facilities, including exemption in stamp duty, separate feeder for power supply and drainage, would be made available in the township.

Gangwar hoped that several industries could be set up in Bareilly and adjoining areas with the help of private sector.

U.P. as one of the key drivers for growth in the national economy has also to prove itself to be a region of excellence.
