A London-based materials technology company, Rheon Labs, has introduced its second product in collaboration with Decathlon under its Kiprun brand. The new running shorts are designed with an advanced energy-absorbing material that helps reduce muscle vibration during intense physical activity.
The men’s Run 900 Ultra Black Shorts are built using Rheon technology, a responsive polymer that stays soft in a relaxed state but becomes firm when pressure is applied. Lab tests show that it can reduce vibration in the quadriceps by 8.7 percent. Unlike traditional compression wear, which applies constant pressure, this material activates only during movement or impact and then quickly returns to its flexible form.
The company aims to eliminate the usual compromise between comfort and performance. It plans to expand the use of this material beyond sportswear into areas such as protective equipment and other performance-focused products.
