Global fashion retailer, REVOLVE, has teamed up with leading material science company, Recover™, to launch a sustainable denim collection under the REVOLVE-owned Lovers and Friends label.
Since 1947, Recover™ has been a leader in the development of sustainable materials and recycling methods. The company recycles post-industrial and post-consumer cotton waste, eliminating the need to plant cotton, cutting water loss considerably, restricting the usage of dyes with their RColorBlend technology, and minimizing textile landfill waste.
The collection includes 14 styles of jeans made with a minimum of 15% Recover™ recycled cotton fiber derived from post-consumer denim.
REVOLVE's dedication to sustainable fashion and spearheading the movement towards a more circular, and enduring fashion system is underscored by the combining of significant resources provided by Recover™ with Lovers and Friends.
Michael Mente, Co-CEO and Co-Founder REVOLVE Group, said that REVOLVE has a responsibility to contribute positively to the industry's and ecosystem's long-term viability, and they believe that this process starts at home. Recover™ is unrivaled in its experience and long-term focus, having worked with thousands of brands and suppliers. With one of the most famous owned brands, Lovers and Friends, they’re thrilled to partner with this multigenerational, family-owned business to bring the strongest messaging and product to their consumers.
Alfredo Ferre, CEO Recover™, said that it’s fantastic to launch this sustainable line with such a well-known American brand and denim product. They've developed a solid collaboration by combining Recover's lowest-impact, highest-quality recycled fiber into the Lovers and Friends denim collection, which is helping to bring sustainable fashion closer to the consumer. Recover™ wants to expand its recycled cotton fiber production to help more firms accomplish their sustainability goals and create a circular fashion system for everyone.
Wrangler, H&M Group, Tommy Hilfiger, G-Star, The North Face, Billabong, and Primark are just a few of the global fashion brands that have used Recover™ recycled cotton and cotton blend fibers.
Boris Mercier, Marketing Director Recover™, said that Recover™ is developing a strong ingredient brand with the goal of drastically improving the garment's environmental value for the final client. In conjunction with REVOLVE, they've taken extra care in informing them about the collection's impact. The hangtag has a QR code that connects to more information about environmental savings, such as water savings, and compares them to everyday activities, such as the number of showers, to make them more intelligible.
Recover™ is one step closer to accomplishing its aim of "circular fashion for everybody" by adding REVOLVE and Lovers and Friends to its portfolio.
