Sewing Technology
Resortecs, based in Brussels, has announced a partnership with Amann Group, one of the world’s leading sewing thread manufacturers. Through this collaboration, the two companies aim to bring design-for-disassembly solutions to industrial scale and integrate circularity directly into garment production.
For Amann, the partnership marks an expansion beyond traditional thread manufacturing by creating opportunities to provide solutions focused on both technical performance and circularity. By managing thread logistics and quality assurance through Amann, Resortecs will be able to focus more on developing textile recycling systems, including preprocessing, waste management, and improving feedstock from both pre- and post-consumer textile waste.
The partnership combines Resortecs’ Smart Stitch technology with Amann’s expertise in industrial thread manufacturing and global distribution.
The companies aim to transform garments into recoverable resources instead of waste. Using Smart Stitch technology, brands can introduce different levels of disassembly strategies that make circularity more practical and commercially viable at scale.
The technology also enables quick removal of labels from unsold or Grade B products for reuse, targeted repairs such as replacing shoe soles or reflective trims, and recovery of valuable garment components.
