Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has introduced R|Elan GreenGold, a fabric made entirely from post-consumer PET bottles, setting a new global benchmark for sustainability with verified authenticity.
R|Elan GreenGold combines responsible sourcing, transparent systems, and science-backed validation to ensure reliability at every stage. The initiative not only strengthens trust in recycled textiles but also promotes a wider culture of sustainability, fashion innovation, and circular design.
Unlike regular recycled polyester, R|Elan GreenGold operates within a brand-managed ecosystem. Every bottle that is collected, flaked, and spun into fibre is fully traceable. Reliance has created a transparent supply chain through reverse vending machines, reliable collection networks, and strict vendor compliance covering both environmental and labour standards.
A major challenge in sustainable textiles is proving authenticity. R|Elan GreenGold addresses this with Isophthalic Acid (IPA) testing, a scientific method that confirms fibre is genuinely made from PET bottles. Global-standard independent tests repeatedly validate GreenGold with an IPA content of around 1.8%, offering brands undeniable proof of recycled origin.
