Reju teams up to scale recycled polyester

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-05-02 15:42:58 – France

Reju has partnered with leading multifilament yarn producers Utexa (Honduras) and Antex (Spain) to validate and scale its 100% recycled polyester for commercial textile applications, marking a major step toward circularity in the global yarn supply chain.

Reju Polyester, made entirely from post-consumer textiles, reduces carbon emissions by around 50% compared to virgin polyester and is engineered to avoid thermal degradation and contaminants. The material will be trialed at Utexa’s Choloma facility and Antex’s Girona plant through October 2025.

These collaborations aim to support Reju’s strategy of developing regionally rooted supply chains and fostering Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) frameworks, ensuring textile waste is regenerated near where it is discarded, advancing true textile circularity.

“By aligning with regional mills, we’re proving that high-performance, sustainable yarns can be sourced and produced locally,” said Reju CEO Patrik Frisk. Utexa and Antex echoed the sentiment, emphasizing their shared commitment to innovation, speed, and environmental responsibility.
