PVH Corp joins US Cotton Trust Protocol as a member

American clothing company, PVH Corp., has signed on as members of the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol. This participation will assist PVH in meeting its goal of sourcing 100% of its cotton sustainably by 2025.

The U.S. Trust Protocol aligns brands and growers of US cotton in best measuring their impacts across six areas: water use, greenhouse gas emissions, energy use, soil carbon, soil loss, and land-use efficiency. It was launched to verify sustainability progress through data collection and third-party cooperation.

PVH Corp.’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Marissa Pagnani McGowan, said that joining the Trust Protocol helps them move forward in meeting their sustainability targets and pushing continuing advances in sustainable cotton procurement for its brands and at scale for the industry. Through this program, they will be better equipped to supply their customers with long-term product options.

Dr. Gary Adams, president of the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol, said that they’re happy to welcome PVH as a new member and to assist them in meeting their big sustainability aspirations as established in their Corporate Responsibility strategy Forward Fashion. In a time when there is a growing need for verifiably sustainable supplies, the Trust Protocol allows American growers to demonstrate their stewardship and be recognized for the environmental efforts they are increasingly making.

The U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, has been recognized by Textile Exchange and Forum for the Future, and is a member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition’s Cotton 2025 Sustainable Cotton Challenge.
