Primark and H&M to purchase parts of their orders from Morocco

The Moroccan textile sector is expected to be one of the key factors in the fast-fashion industry. According to the Moroccan Association for the Textile and Clothing Industries (AMITH), president, Karim Tazi and also founder of Marwa group for the first time, they are collaborating with new brands such as the Swedish brand H&M, as well as the Irish company Primark.

H&M and Primark considered as prime contractors with already several large orders to execute will purchase parts of their orders from Morocco. This decision is likely to create 20,000 additional jobs in the textile sector.

The activity generated by the two large brands will create about 20,000 jobs. They think their market share will continue to grow in the coming years.

The textile sector managed to generate around 34.1 billion dirhams worth of exports an increase of 1.7 billion dirhams, or 5.2%, compared to the previous year, according to the Foreign Exchange Office.

The textile sector’s objective is to conclude its operations by 36 billion dirhams of shipments this year.
