Portal has launched the Biome Insulated Jacket, a performance-focused outerwear piece created with Italian insulation expert Thermore. This release highlights a new focus on high-quality, responsibly made synthetic insulation in the premium outdoor market.

The jacket uses Thermore’s EcoDown, the company’s leading recycled synthetic fill. Made fully from used PET bottles, EcoDown is designed to match the loft, softness and packability of natural down, while offering better performance in wet weather.

Unlike natural down, which can lose its shape and warmth when wet, EcoDown stays warm because of its water-repellent fibres. This benefit is becoming more valued by retailers as customers look for dependable warmth without animal-based materials. The jacket is insulated with 150gsm EcoDown, offering strong warmth in low temperatures while helping prevent overheating during light movement.
