Polylana unveils enhanced fiber with 90% recycled content

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2024-04-24 16:34:06 – Netherlands

Polylana, the latest innovation from traceability technology company Aware, introduces a versatile, traceable, and fully recyclable fiber. The Amsterdam-based brand has upgraded its vegan fiber, increasing its sustainable and recycled content from 50 percent to 90 percent.

According to general manager Snowden Shi, Polylana was developed as a more sustainable alternative to acrylic, a fiber known for its environmental impact. Polylana retains the warmth and softness of acrylic while significantly reducing its environmental footprint, thanks to an innovative extrusion method and being acrylonitrile-free.

Polylana is designed to be easily integrated into existing manufacturing processes, requiring no specialized machinery. It can replace acrylic and wool products efficiently, offering scalability and sustainability benefits. The company has made significant investments to enhance the recycled content of the fiber and better collaborate with global brands and their supply chains.

The upgraded Polylana fiber, unveiled in China last month, showcases the benefits of sustainable technology in the textile industry. With fully traceable fiber and blockchain security, Polylana ensures transparency and reliability in the supply chain. As Polylana continues to innovate and expand its partnerships, it leads the way in sustainable material solutions for the textile market.
