Planet Textiles Conference on textile and sustainability is being jointly organized by Ecotextile News and Messe Frankfurt to tackles the crucial issues on sustainability in the global textile sector.

High profile speakers from adidas, the ZHDC Group, VF Corp, bluesign and IPE China all lined-up for what promises to be a thought-provoking, timely show, particularly given the seismic changes currently taking place in China's textile industry where new laws are finally cracking down on textile polluters.

Sean Cady, VP global responsible sourcing at VF Corp, Claiborne-Iskorkutan, senior director of apparel materials as Adidas Apparel Sourcing and Peter Waeber, CEO at Bluesign Technologies are among speakers at the show.

Scott Echols, the new technical director with the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Group, is also confirmed to talk at the conference.

Kate Logan, Green Choice project manager at the Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE China), Nick Smith, head of textiles at Bayer Material Science, and Zhao Lin of Solidaridad are among the other speakers.

This year's Planet Textiles conference will takes place on 14th October 2015. Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics will runs alongside from the 13th to the 15th of October.

Since sustainability has become a key issue in China in the last few years the All About Sustainability zone will increase in size by nearly 30%, in order to respond to Chinese consumers as they become more conscious of environmental protection.

Both Summit and the fair will take place at the newly built National Convention and Exhibition Center, Shanghai, China, where Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics saw a 56% increase in buyers compared to 2014 for its Spring Edition in March this year. Last year’s Autumn Edition featured 3,844 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions while over 71,000 visitors. Organizers expect this edition of the fair to exceed these numbers.
