Pangaia
Inspired by racquet sports, Pangaia has introduced a new collection that focuses on movement, material innovation, and modern dressing. The designs are created to transition easily from sports settings to everyday wear, combining performance and casual style in a seamless way.
Pangaia continues to focus on bio-based materials for performance apparel. As part of its Spring/Summer 2026 collection, the brand has launched the Courtside Capsule, built around a newly developed fabric called (gaia)BioStretch. This fabric blends bio-based nylon with plant-derived elastane, offering an alternative to traditional synthetic materials made from fossil fuels.
The material is made using 72% bio-based nylon sourced from industrial corn feedstock, along with elastane that contains around 70% renewable content. It is designed to deliver the same stretch, recovery, and durability expected in activewear, while reducing dependence on petroleum-based inputs.
This launch targets the performance wear segment, which still relies heavily on synthetic fibres where functionality often takes priority over material innovation. In addition to BioStretch, the collection also uses GRS-certified recycled nylon, further supporting reduced use of virgin materials.
The capsule also incorporates finishing technologies from HeiQ, which provide features such as cooling and odour control, enhancing comfort and performance for the wearer.
