Home textile is one of the most important export industry of Pakistan and exhibitors from Faisalabad, Karachi, Lahore and other important textile producing cities of Pakistan partake in Heimtextil Fair, one of the largest international trade fair of world for home and contract textiles and the global benchmark for quality design textiles of innovative functionality.

As the first trade fair of the year, it is a platform for manufacturers, retailers and designers. With a warm response on the opening day of the event held in Germany, Pakistani exporters are expecting heavy orders as they take part in the exhibition.

Despite deceptive propaganda that Pakistani exporters could not fulfill their export commitment on time due to energy shortage, Pakistani textiles have received positive response from the buyers, while rival exporters failed to receive the desired response. However, Chinese exporters are the main competitors, giving Pakistan a tough time.

However, Pakistani exporters are anticipating foreign orders worth $70 to $80 million. Expressing high hopes, Pakistan Textile Exporters Association Chairman Sohail Pasha and Vice Chairman Rizwan Riaz, said that although this year, Pakistani exhibitors are less in number than the previous years; they have received a positive response from international buyers.

Pakistan is the fourth largest exhibitor in the event with around 220 exhibitors out of which 48 exhibitors are participating under TDAP umbrella at Pakistan pavilion. Pakistan Pavilion was jointly inaugurated by S.M. Muneer, Chief Executive, TDAP of Pakistan and Syed Hasan Javed, Ambassador of Pakistan to Germany on January 14, 2015.

Pakistan by participating in the Heimtextil for the past few years have been earning millions of dollars in foreign exchange every year by getting export orders through the event.

In order to best market the products of Pakistan in Heimtextil this year, the TDAP has taken several steps such as promotional stand at the entrance of hall 10 by a renowned designer to merge traditional art and modern textile design into an attractive display of Pakistani home and house textiles to all visitors entering the hall.

Pakistan home textile export, which stood at around $3 to $4 billion annually greatly depends on this exhibition and exporters are hopeful to get huge export orders from this event.

Trade Fair Hemitextile 2015 is being organized from 14 to 17 January in Frankfurt, Germany. This year around 2600 exhibitors from around 60 countries are participating in the event and like every year more than 60,000 buyers from around 130 countries are excepted to place orders in the event.
