Thai fashion label Painkiller Atelier has unveiled Rebloom, a 30-look menswear collection featuring fabrics made with Deja recycled polyester fibres from Indorama Ventures. The collection marks the label’s first experience working with recycled materials.
The fabrics use fibres produced from post-consumer polyethylene terephthalate (PET) waste. Thai textile manufacturer and fabric supplier Bulliontex supported the project by supplying fabrics and providing technical guidance as the initial three-look experiment developed into a full runway collection.
Inspired by the way plants unfold and bloom, Rebloom translates organic forms into contemporary menswear through wrapping, overlapping and layered constructions. The project explores how recycled materials can be used to create different silhouettes and textures while challenging conventional perceptions of recycled fabrics.
According to Painkiller Atelier, the collaboration provided an opportunity to investigate how recycled materials could be interpreted through design to create new aesthetic and functional value. Indorama Ventures said the initiative demonstrates how post-consumer PET can be transformed into textile products through collaboration between material producers, fabric suppliers and designers.
