Pacsun launches 'PacDenim For A Better Tomorrow' campaign

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2021-10-11 11:40:01 – USA

American retail clothing brand, PacSun, has collaborated with Cotton Incorporated's Blue Jeans Go Green™ Denim Recycling Program to launch its 'PacDenim For A Better Tomorrow' initiative. Pacsun's 'Pacdenim For A Better Tomorrow' initiative will roll out co-branded denim recycling bins in five Pacsun locations, including its Soho and Downtown Los Angeles flagship stores.

As part of the program, consumers who drop off their worn denim products will receive a $10 discount on their future Pacsun Denim purchases. Customers also have the option to return denim to store personnel at the registers in any Pacsun store if recycling bins are not available in their location.

The initiative is part of PacCares, a philanthropic initiative committed to the health and well-being of young people. Pacsun and Cotton will use creative material on TikTok, Instagram, and other social media channels to promote the initiative. The campaign is an extension of Pacsun's “#Get Your Jeans On” social initiative, which was debuted as part of Pacsun's 2021 Pre-Fall campaign and uses its brand ambassador network to build support and exposure for the program.

Andrea Samber, Director, Brand Partnerships at Cotton Incorporated, said that they're excited to collaborate with Pacsun on their 'PacDenim For A Better Tomorrow' campaign to introduce Cotton's Blue Jeans Go Green™ program to a younger audience. Pacsun has a pulse on unique and innovative ways to engage their customers, and they're excited to help them introduce younger consumers to their commitment to cotton sustainability by recycling old denim, thanks to their focus on Gen Z.

Kelly Mahoney, Pacsun's senior director of merchandising for denim, said, that it's absolutely wonderful that they can debut such an impactful effort around denim, being one of their best-selling categories at Pacsun.

A dedicated landing page on Pacsun.com for all of the items created with 100% sustainable, recyclable, or organic material is another move taken by the firm to introduce more sustainable measures. Color Range, the brand's gender-neutral line, was released last month, and the entire collection is manufactured responsibly.

Brie Olson, president of Pacsun, said that as a company dedicated to inspiring positive development via fashion, they think that tiny improvements made today will lead to a brighter tomorrow. They're excited to introduce PacDenim For A Better Tomorrow as the next step in their quest for a more sustainable future.

Pacsun joins Cotton Incorporated's program alongside Ariat, 7 For All Mankind, and Levi's. Cotton Incorporated's other activities include the Denim Stack Challenge in 2019 and Denim Days New York.
