Outlast Technologies GmbH has launched Bailey, a new textile designed to provide an instant cooling effect when touched. Made using temperature regulation technology combined with Lyocell fibres, the fabric is created to offer both immediate and long-lasting comfort.

When touched, Bailey gives a cool sensation due to its ability to absorb heat quickly and its naturally cool surface. This makes it suitable for warm conditions and products that come in direct contact with the skin. The cooling effect comes from combining Outlast’s temperature regulation technology with a Lyocell base fabric.

In addition to the initial cooling effect, Bailey can store heat with a capacity of 7,500 J/m². This helps the fabric absorb, hold, and release heat when needed, reducing temperature changes, lowering sweating, and maintaining a balanced microclimate.

The fabric can be used in various applications, including bedding, orthopaedic products, linings, and other products that come in direct contact with the skin.
