Outerwear brand Eddie Bauer introduces rental program

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2021-07-19 05:42:08 – USA

US-based outerwear brand Eddie Bauer, is launching its first rental program to encourage circularity and make its technical apparel more accessible.

The service will be offered throughout the United States, with clothing sold at a quarter of their normal price.

The US store, which was bought by Forever 21 owner Authentic Brands Group earlier this year, believes that the new service would remove some of the obstacles to outdoor access by selling technical clothes and accessories at affordable prices.

The company said that it will also allow customers to test products before they commit to a purchase. Rentals include clothes, footwear, tents, sleeping bags, and day packs, which can be shipped anywhere in the continental United States.

Eddie Bauer’s CEO, Damien Huang said in a statement that adventure should be defined by the individual. Everyone sees it differently, and experiencing your experience may take many different forms.

Huang added that through their inaugural rental program, they aim to reach even more people, providing them with the gear, clothes, and resources they need to be outside – whether it's a trek in their local state park or a year-long backpacking trip.
