Otrium partners with Good On You to adopt sustainability ratings

Online fashion marketplace Otrium has partnered with Good On You, a sustainability rating platform, to highlight its three million members brands that are "going the extra mile when it comes to sustainability" with a focus on people, the planet, and animal welfare.

Otrium users will be able to select a filter on the website or app to see 'Conscious' companies and goods as assessed by Good On You, which uses publicly available data such as industry standards, certifications, and brand reporting. Nearly 3,000 brands are included in the Good On You app's ethical brand ratings.

Milan Daniels, Otrium co-founder and chief executive, said that they're devoted to exploring ways to let their members purchase more consciously, offering their fashion-lovers the finest possible online retail experience while ensuring every item of clothing manufactured is worn. Their collaboration with Good On You will assist to increase awareness for its millions of members, allowing them to quickly select brands that go above and beyond to be more sustainable.

Daniels added that collaboration with external specialists, such as the Good On You team, is essential. With a purpose-driven vision of a circular future for the fashion industry, they are in the business of helping fashion firms waste less. As the world moves toward a more sustainable future, there are big challenges ahead, and they're playing a vital role by partnering with brands to help them minimize waste in the fashion industry.

Sandra Capponi, co-founder of Good On You, said that it was natural for them to partner with an innovative platform like Otrium. They already share so many principles surrounding making it easier for fashion fans to make more responsible fashion decisions. But, more importantly, Otrium is assisting clients in identifying top sustainable brands, which has enormous power. They can urge the rest of the industry to step up and change for the better if they all purchase more sustainably and support those brands that are doing good.

The announcement comes as Otrium expands its marketplace to over 300 brands, including Adidas by Stella McCartney, Theory, All Saints, Joseph, Temperley, Alchemist, and Closed. Karl Lagerfeld, Alex Chung, Adidas, and Belstaff are among the long-time partners.

The Amsterdam-based fashion marketplace was created to address the multibillion-dollar problem of unsold inventory in the industry. Currently, almost 12% of all apparel manufactured, or more than $200 billion, sits unsold in warehouses and is at risk of being thrown away or burned.

Otrium works with fashion designers to find a buyer for every item of clothing manufactured using proprietary technology, reducing clothing waste. It also allows businesses of any size to swiftly put up their own outlet store through its managed marketplace.

Three million people have signed up for the service, which provides customers with a customized off-price fashion experience as well as discounts of up to 75% off a wide choice of designer and luxury labels. From three logistics hubs in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States, the marketplace services over 20 markets across Europe and the United States.
