Headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, Oriental Weavers and its subsidiaries have continually delivered products synonymous with quality and value for more than 40 years.
The palette centers on atmospheric blues and grays paired with other neutral shades. Oriental Weavers will show Formations and many other new collections at its World Market Center showroom in space C-395 during Las Vegas Market, July 29 to August 2.
President Jonathan Witt told HTT the company has never been able to offer an all-viscose rug before. He said that, “To get that look and avoid the shedding, we have always gone a different route by trying other things with polypropylene and other synthetics,†Also, “Shedding with viscose can be a real problem, worse than wool. But with Formations, we’ve found a way to avoid all that.â€
Andy Brumlow, vp of product development, explained how OW achieved the new construction: “Taking a long strand of viscose and tightly twisting it to create more of an interlocking yarn that helps decrease the amount of shedding.â€
The Formations collection is hand-loomed in India and comes in seven abstract, organically-inspired designs with hand-carved details. Oriental Weavers has come up with a new construction that marks a first for the company. The company is launching its first 100% viscose collection this summer, with a debut set for Las Vegas Market.
