OEKO-TEX, TextileGenesis partner on organic cotton traceability

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2026-01-23 13:58:47 – Switzerland

OEKO-TEX has partnered with TextileGenesis, a Lectra group company, to digitise transaction certificates for organic cotton supply chains. The initiative aims to improve traceability and reduce fraud as scrutiny around sustainability claims continues to grow.

Commenting on the collaboration, Amit Gautam, Chief Executive of TextileGenesis, said the project will create a digital chain of custody for OEKO-TEX certified organic cotton. He added that moving away from paper and PDF-based certificates will improve trust, efficiency and credibility across the supply chain.

Under the new system, physical transaction certificates will be replaced by a single digital platform that directly connects certification data with the movement of materials through the supply chain.

As part of the collaboration, OEKO-TEX’s testing and certification framework will be integrated with TextileGenesis’ traceability platform. TextileGenesis uses a token-based system called Fibercoin, which assigns a unique digital token to certified material units and records every transaction, creating a secure and transparent record from raw material to finished product.
