Nuyarn is expanding its presence in the performance sock market, with Falke, Courier, Radio and Kathmandu joining existing partners KUIU and Trew in adopting its performance wool technologies. The New Zealand-based textile technology company said the growing interest reflects rising demand for lightweight, durable and quick-drying natural fibre materials for activities such as running, cycling, hiking and hunting.

Nuyarn has developed a twist-free spinning technology that aims to retain more of wool’s natural performance properties. The company has also introduced its Strong Wool technology, which is designed to turn coarser wool grades, traditionally used in home textiles, into yarns suitable for performance clothing and accessories.

According to Nuyarn, this technology improves the abrasion resistance of stronger wool fibres while retaining the comfort, moisture management and thermal properties needed for active use.

The latest sock collections use both Nuyarn Merino and Strong Wool technologies. These products are designed to offer durability, moisture control, comfort and lightweight performance.
