Ethical fashion brand Nisolo has launched the Sustainability Facts Label on December 15, 2021. The label allows consumers to check the impact each product has on the planet and on the people who manufacture the product.
Greenwashing by fashion brands, according to Nisolo, jeopardizes the industry's progress toward sustainability. Furthermore, the corporation claims that just about 5% of those working in the apparel industry are paid a living wage.
Each Nisolo product will include the Nisolo Sustainability Facts Label. Each label includes a QR code that, when scanned, provides access to 200 data points detailing the product's performance for people and the environment. Customers should be able to better comprehend the impact of the things they buy as a result of this.
Patrick Woodyard, Nisolo's founder and CEO, said that while far from ideal, their objective is that the breadth, depth, and simplicity of the Sustainability Facts Label becomes the bare minimum for sustainability and the floor for future labels to be built upon.
