Syre, a leading company in textile-to-textile recycling, has announced a long-term partnership with global sports brand NIKE Inc. The collaboration marks a major step toward building a circular materials system for the apparel industry. Both companies share a vision of creating a closed-loop system, where worn-out textiles are reused to make new performance wear.
The partnership highlights Nike’s dedication to sustainable innovation and Syre’s mission to accelerate the shift toward circular textiles. It will focus on gradually introducing Syre’s recycled polyester, made entirely from old textiles, into Nike’s core performance collections. Syre will also serve as Nike’s primary supplier for textile-to-textile recycled polyester.
“Our partnership with Syre represents a change in how we approach materials and sourcing,” said Sitora Muzafarova, VP of Nike’s Materials Supply Chain. “Innovation drives everything we do at Nike, and textile-to-textile recycled polyester is key to creating high-performance products that are both top quality and sustainable.”
“Having Nike, a global leader in sportswear, commit to textile-to-textile polyester sends a strong message across the industry,” said Dennis Nobelius, CEO of Syre. “This is not a limited project—it’s the moment when circular materials move from concept to large-scale reality. It’s a proud day for Syre and for everyone working toward making circularity the new standard.”
