Six countries have come together under the TechStyle Erasmus+ Project to create artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions for circular and regenerative fashion in the apparel and garment industry. They are namelyFrance, Sweden, Spain, Greece, Italy, and Türkiye.
Supported by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme, the initiative, titled TechStyle: AI-Driven Circular and Regenerative Fashion in VET Education, aims to speed up the digital and sustainable transformation of the textile and fashion sectors. Türkiye is represented in the project by the Aegean Apparel Exporters Association (EHKİB).
EHKİB Chair Burak Sertbaş stated that the project supports the European Union’s Sustainable and Circular Textiles Strategy and new AI regulations. He mentioned that TechStyle will focus on digital transformation by applying AI-based tools to improve raw material sourcing, reduce waste, and boost production efficiency.
He also shared that the two-year project, with a budget of €250,000, will help strengthen the digital skills of the apparel workforce and guide the industry toward data-driven, AI-powered operations. Sertbaş emphasized that the initiative will make a “strong contribution” to the sustainable shift of the global garment sector.
In Türkiye, the project aims to increase the apparel industry’s competitiveness, supporting both economic development and export growth. In line with the EU’s Sustainable and Circular Textiles Strategy, TechStyle will promote the use of AI technologies that encourage a more circular and eco-friendly economy.
