Mud Jeans achieves 42% reduction in carbon emissions

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2023-10-18 16:39:23 – Netherlands

Mud Jeans, a Dutch company, managed to decrease its carbon emissions by 42% in 2022 compared to the previous year. This reduction is mainly due to a more energy-efficient production process, especially in sewing and ironing, at their manufacturing partner, Yousstex. They highlighted the significant impact of a greener production process, emphasizing their commitment to sustainability.

In their annual sustainability report, Mud Jeans shared that despite their efforts, their jeans still have a carbon impact during production. However, they have claimed carbon neutrality since 2016 by offsetting this impact through investments in projects that remove CO2 from the atmosphere. They emphasized transparency and continuous efforts to further minimize their carbon footprint.

Mud Jeans also provided data on water usage, indicating a 1.8% increase in water impact per pair of jeans in 2022 compared to the previous year. They acknowledged this rise and expressed their intention to collaborate with suppliers to find ways to reduce water impact further. Their sustainability report highlighted ongoing goals and initiatives aimed at promoting circularity and improving social responsibilities.
