M&S, eBay to launch first clothing resale platform

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-08-26 15:45:27 – United Kingdom

Marks & Spencer (M&S) has entered the resale market for the first time by partnering with e-commerce giant eBay, aiming to extend the life of its products and reduce textile waste by giving pre-loved items a new home.

The new resale service covers clothing, footwear, and accessories and is part of M&S’s wider sustainability plan, ‘Plan A’. Within this, the Another Life programme focuses on sustainable practices across fashion, home, and beauty. The dedicated M&S x eBay store makes it easier for customers to trade in and shop for second-hand M&S items.

In return, customers receive a £5 voucher for future M&S online purchases worth £35 or more, provided they send in at least one M&S item. Items suitable for resale are professionally cleaned and repaired before being listed on eBay, while those not fit for resale are responsibly recycled or repurposed.

“We’re delighted to partner with eBay and Reskinned to launch a dedicated resale platform,” said Monique Leewenburgh, M\&S Fashion, Home & Beauty, sourcing and technology director. “This not only allows customers to give items Another Life, but also lets them shop pre-loved pieces they may have missed from previous seasons.”

Kirsty Keoghan, eBay’s European Fashion GM, added: “M&S is a much-loved British institution, known for its timeless quality and style. Bringing M&S onto the eBay marketplace is a big step in making circular fashion more accessible, appealing, and scalable.”
