Milan Fashion Week 2019 holds out an array of wearable beauty inspirations

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2019-03-01 12:55:00 – Mumbai

Milan Fashion Week commenced on a rather somber note with the death of legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld. With a heavy heart, the Fall 2019 season continued in Milan; even at the Fendi show, various designers and makeup artists paid their tribute to the legendary fashion figure through their beauty choices. With references to sci-fi films and a distinct nod to fantasy, the beauty looks were bursting with wearable inspiration. Some eye-catching hair and makeup moments from Milan Fashion Week is definitely something to take inspiration from.

Slick perfection - Taking inspiration from Karl Lagerfeld’s sketches at Fendi, all the girls had natural glowing skin with subtle contouring and glossy lips, most beige and natural and some in red. Thirties waves hairstyle turned into a river of glossy swirls and twists tied into a very contemporary natural low pony.

The clean slate - The epitome of no-makeup look at Alberta Ferretti featured the tiniest touches to subtly elevate natural beauty like a hint of gloss on the lips, a bit of highlighter on the cheekbones and a light sweep of taupe eye shadow.

Crimson lips - Red lipstick was Fall 2019's most popular runway hue by the third day of MFW. Red was the clear theme of the Emporio Armani show. The bold shade showed up in nearly all of the designs from accessory-based hints to head-to-toe fabric. Similarly, at Luisa Beccaria, the models sported fierce red lips while strutting down the ramp.

The minimalistic take - At Marni, the models were seen with a pale skin, adding nuance with burnt taupe shades and graphic lines over the eyelids. This was paired with blunt, androgynous fringes cut short to accent contoured cheekbones. Missoni brought a nomadic mood with hooded fringes and earthy eyeshadows coupled with richly pigmented black wings drawn over the sockets.

Weaved braids - At Prada, poker-straight hair partings and sombre plaits sat over the shoulders of the models who hit the ramps. The hairstylist took it even further by weaving 20-inch long extensions into braided pigtails. At Max Mara, amazing and simple, everyday braids looked incredibly chic when given a sharp side part and a little volume at the roots. The look was completed with earthy tones on the lips and cheeks.

Neon liners - At Iceberg, "glam punk" look in shades of pink, blue and black on the eyes, picking up the key colours of the Iceberg collection was spotted. It was achieved by combining both a smudgy and graphic feel with watercolour-like diffusion all over the lid and a sharp wing running from beyond the end of the eyebrows through the crease and down to the nose.
