Microban International has partnered with mountain sports brand Ortovox to introduce odour-control technology in its first mountain biking collection, the Sequence Series. The Sequence Trail Line is made from 100% textile-to-textile recycled polyester and follows a closed-loop recycling approach, where used textiles are converted into new clothing.

Christian Morgenroth, senior product manager at Ortovox, said that the collection includes the brand’s first synthetic T-shirts made entirely without wool, making effective odour control an important requirement. He added that Microban’s technology was selected for its ability to fit smoothly into the product design and help riders keep their clothing fresh for longer.

Microban’s Scentry Revive technology is added directly to the fabric during manufacturing. It works by capturing and neutralising odour molecules before they settle into the material. According to Microban, the technology can maintain its performance for up to 50 domestic washes.

The company states that Scentry Revive helps control lasting sweat-related odours in synthetic clothing and reduces the need for frequent washing. This may also help extend the usable life of garments. Scentry Revive has received Eco Passport by Oeko-Tex and bluesign certifications.
