Matt & Nat refocus on sustainability through their new collection

Founded by Inder Bedi, Matt & Nat the new Montreal-based brand is focused on two fundamentals to reduce and reuse.

The curated collection of accessories and the ready-to-wear mens’ and women’s collection features sustainable textiles such as cotton from America and cruelty-free cactus leather, as well as repurposed seat belts for trim, handles and straps. All the components of the collection are handmade in Canada.

Bedi stated that one day, everything new would come from something old. The products feature a unisex, minimalist design aesthetic that has been locally crafted by hand in Canada. The company’s key iconic sustainable designs include accessories designed from upcycled leather sourced from decommissioned Boeing 737 aeroplanes from the Air Canada fleet ($297). The limited edition lineup of bags and pep and stylish while also narrating a unique story.

In addition to underlining the use of sustainable and repurposed materials, the brand has also enforced a program called Last Beyond You, which sees customers offered a 25-per cent credit for unwanted 457 Anew products to go toward a new item purchase. The items returned will be refurbished and donated to Dans La Rue, an organisation that children living on the streets.
