Luum Textiles unveils waste-derived fabrics

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-05-13 18:14:38 – USA

Luum Textiles has introduced Unified Field, its second 2025 collection, featuring six innovative textiles. Among them, Forward Motion, Stability, and Subtle Stria stand out as sustainable offerings that have been added to the brand’s Garment Waste Platform.

Through collaborations with mill partners in Italy and the U.S., Luum transforms discarded garments and industrial apparel waste into new textiles, diverting materials from landfills and giving them a second life.

These textiles incorporate pre- and post-consumer recycled wool, acrylic, and polyester, which are shredded and re-spun into melange yarns. The colors are derived directly from the original garments, eliminating the need for extra water, dyes, or energy.
