Lenzing Group introduces real-time shipment tracker

Lenzing Group, a leading producer of wood-based specialty fibers, is pioneering a real-time ocean shipment tracker in collaboration with project44, a digital supply chain solutions company. This tracker enhances transparency and efficiency in the global fiber supply chain. It aligns with Lenzing’s sustainability goals, providing visibility into carbon emissions and enhancing the customer experience.

To tackle the growing complexities in the industry’s supply chain, Lenzing has integrated a real-time application programming interface (API) between its systems and the project44 platform, Movement. This integration, combined with advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), GPS sensors, and machine learning, enables Lenzing to offer customers precise real-time insights on fiber orders. These insights range from shipment status to container location, vessel route tracking, and estimated arrival times at ports worldwide.

Thomas Panholzer, Vice President of Global Supply Chain at Lenzing, highlighted the significance of advanced ocean shipment tracking in light of recent supply chain disruptions. He emphasized Lenzing’s commitment to transforming digitally and ensuring transparency in the textile and nonwovens supply chain. The company is eager to collaborate with customers to craft ambitious carbon reduction targets.

Jett McCandless, founder and CEO of project44, emphasized the importance of collaborations in enhancing supply chain visibility. He praised Lenzing’s shipment tracker for providing customers unprecedented access to real-time shipment information worldwide.
